There are a few ways to sell your home. The main modes are: 1) Call the "cash offer!" guys; 2) Call a REALTOR®, and put it on the market more or less "as is"; 3) Do a whole bunch of work and get your home in the best possible condition, THEN call the REALTOR®.
Obviously, these get different results, and people do them for different reasons. But BY FAR, the best result is usually to DO THE WORK!
As an active REALTOR, I can tell you that right now home sales are going 2 different ways. Gone are the days when any old house will sell in one weekend with several offers above asking. BUT... Well presented houses in high-demand segments are still frequently going quickly and above asking price. Homes in less-than-great condition and which don't present well are taking longer, getting fewer offers, and often falling short of asking price. This can cost sellers tens of thousands of $$, to say nothing of the stress created when a home isn't selling, and you are losing power in the market with each passing day!
Not everyone has the ability, time, or energy to do the work.
Who wants to deal with multiple people?! Junk-haulers, painters, carpenters, landscapers, cleaners?! And how do you know what to do and what to pass on?

Meeting
After an initial call to get some info, I come to your home, and let you know what "typical" homes like yours are selling for. We'll go through your property and discuss things to improve (or leave alone) and I'll verbally let you know the approximate cost/value of the improvements we discuss. At that time, if you like, I can tell which of the work I can do, and provide my estimated cost.
Agreement
As soon as possible, I will send you detailed market value estimates for your property as we discussed, and if requested, a written work estimate if you'd like to hire my Help2SellNH service.
